Fox Valley saints Wrestling

Saints Wrestling Preview night will be held on Dec 8th 5:30-6:30pm at Xavier Middle School. All ages/grades and experience levels welcome. For new wrestlers this is your chance to meet the coaches and see what Saints wrestling is all about and have some fun without requiring any committment. Registered wrestlers are strongly encouraged to come and bring a friend whether they are interested in wrestling or not. Regardless of whether they are registered, there will be an informational parent meeting at the end

Saints preK-1st is a beginner level program, designed with the intent of getting the energy out while having fun with friends and learning the basics of wrestling. PreK-1st graders are not required or expected to compete in weekend tournaments but all are welcome to compete in a couple of weekday meets we plan in which wrestlers will be matched by coaches against opponents of similar skill as well as the (just for fun) end of season intrasquad dual. Practices are held Sundays from 4:00-5:00pm starting after Christmas break, lasting until mid March (Cost is $50)

Open to wrestlers of all experience levels, Saints Wrestling is about teaching the basic skills of wrestling to beginners and more advanced skills as wrestlers gain more experience and confidence, still with a focus on having fun. In this transitional group, 2nd-4th graders will practice at Xavier Middle school 5:45- 6:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning after Christmas break. There is no regular season competition, however those who feel ready are encouraged to participate in up to two weekend tournaments and two weekday meets which coaches will pair against opponents of similar skill, in addition to our end of year intrasquad dual. (Cost is $75)

Wrestlers from schools other than XMS are welcome to join in the S&C program as soon as they can arrive. 6-8th graders are members of the Appleton Area Public School Wrestling Conference and compete against local schools on Tuesdays starting mid January, the season lasts until mid March at which time those wrestlers who are ready to compete at the next level are encouraged to participate in the State Qualifiers. 5th graders will be encouraged to compete in two weekend tournaments and 2 weekday duals where coaches pair wrestlers with opponents of similar skill, as well as the end of season intrasquad dual (Cost is $100)

Held at Xavier Middle School on Sundays from 5-6:30 and coached by a current female wrestler from UW-Stevens Point, the girls only session is open to all girls K-8th regarless of school affiliation. Wrestlers will be paired with others of similar age/skill work on basic or more advanced skills depending on their level knowing that they will only be paired with other female wrestlers. Girls wrestling is the nation's fastest growing high school and collegiate sport and we intend to help girls of the area grow in their skills and love of the sport.
